With tons of tears on small screen already flown here come an apt television serial in ETV Kannada – ‘Chitte Hejje’ based on H Girish Rao (Jogi) novel of the same name – versatile actor Ananthnag is again in Vinu Balanja team in ‘Chitte Hejje’ that stats flying from 23rd of this month.
The formal media address was held on Monday afternoon at ITC Gardenia. Ananthnag, Vinu Balanja and Paramesh Gundkal were on the dais to address the media and other guests.
According to Ananthnag the real worth is in TV today. So much of literature is not found in silver screen. For a person like me the novel based and art films was easy in the beginning but when it comes to monopoly it is Doordarshan paved way for good literary work in the beginning days. Now with increase in number of television serials I find more apt things coming in small screen says Ananthnag in his address. There are very good writers like Jogi, Prakash Belawadi, Vinu Balanja and scores of others. What is not possible in big screen small screen makes it possible.
Analyzing the working pattern of Vinu Balanja with him Ananthnag is in second mega television serial said he finds the qualities of his brother Shanker Nag in him. Vinu works even with camera, I was amazed. However Ananthnag feels one week of TV work is equal to one feature film. It makes the serial and captivates audience. Cinemadalli Niraase Kattitta buththi’ he pointed.
Less in words and more in work Vinu Balanja recalled how he got in to Jogi’s novel ‘Chitte Hejje’. When ETV channel approved I was happy. Presence of Jogi in the making of ‘Chitte Hejje’ is even happier. Second time my producer Nadendla Venkatapathi investing money. In ‘Chitte Hejje’ there is love, friction, crime, the family inconvenient atmosphere after bride runs away from home etc. We make it intelligent for audience to understand developments. The focus on environment is very prominent says Vinu Balanja.
Seetha Kote, Hanumanthe Gowda and various others are in the cast. Ravi is cameraman of ‘Chitte Hejje’.
‘Chitte Hejje’ is on air from 23rd September at 9 pm Monday to Friday.
