‘Swayamvara’ is with the hairline story of ‘Meet My Father’ Hollywood cinema and nothing much to do with ‘Mujse Shaadi Karoge’. If I make the one like the Hindi film I have to face the srictures in the censor board. I know it very well said the director Ananthnaraju who is sitting pretty with good hits like Jaajie Mallige, Masth Maja Maadi. This is not at all a remake as 70 percent of the structure of the cinema has been worked out by director Ananthnaraju, writer cum director Tushar Ranganath and dialogue and lyrics writer Ramanarayan.

The just started film ‘Swayamvara’ title film appeared in 1973 and the yesteryears ‘Swayamvara’ purely original one was directed by YR Swami in which Dr.Rajakumar, Bharathi, Dinesh and Sathya played key roles. It was produced by Karnataka Films Limited.

This announcement at the middle of ‘Swayamvara’ muhuruth came up from director Anantharaju. The film starring Srinagara Kitty, Diganth and Sharmila Mandre in the lead roles went on the floors in the presence of bigwigs of Kannada cinema industry on Wednesday morning at Thirumala Giri Venkateshwara Temple in JP Nagar 2nd stage.

The noteworthy aspect of this film is that five directors – Prem, Yogaraj Bhat, Nagendra Prasad, Tushar Ranganath and AP Arjun have penned a song each. Manikanth Khadri is the music director and HC Venu is the cameraman. The shooting will be held in Bangalore and Mysore. Two songs will be shot in abroad.

Producer M Chandru staying in the big camps of K Manju and Sandesh Nagaraj doing finance on area basis for films is using his work experience. Chandru is not acting in this film and he is taking care of everything to make this a comedy entertainer for the whole family audience.

‘Swayamvara’ is about two friends aiming for one girl. As I approach after a long stay in the village it is Diganth who tries to poke his nose. This has good comedy and there is lot of fun too said Srinagar Kitty. Diganth is playing the playboy character and compete with Kitty for the girl.

The charming Sharmila Mandre is firstly happy for the film she had got to work with director Anantha Raju. In Masth Maja Maadi I was in the song with others and studied the nature of director Anantharaju. That day I thought I should work with this director in case of any chance. When producer M Chandru approached me and said Anantharaju is directing this film I was extremely happy to work. I am in the team of ‘Swayamvara’ said the beauty with brain Sharmila Mandre.

Rangayana Raghu, Thara, MN Lakshmi Devi, Umesh, Om Prakash Rao, Harish Rai, Silli Lalli Anand are also in the supporting roles. Thushal Ranganath has penned the dialogues. Deepu S Kumar is the editor. Palani Raj handle the stunts.
