Prominent director of Kannada cinema PN Sathya starting his career from super hit film of challenging star Darshan ‘Majestic’ in 2002 passed awayon Saturday night at a private Hospital in Basaveshwaranagara, Bengaluru. He was admitted for cancer. Off late he was looking very thin. He was last seen at the 16th year celebration of ‘Majestic’ Kannada cinema at a private resort in Bengaluru outskirts.
PN Sathya humble personality was ready with U/A as Kannada cinema title. This is normally the certification given by regional censor board. He had put up a room near Rex Theatre in Bengaluru for discussion. Script and screenplay was ready. He had promised senior PRO Vijayakumar to work for his film and correct him in mistakes. PRO Vijayakumar has agreed to work with PN Sathya for ‘U/A’ Kannada cinema.
Although ‘Majestic’ brought him name and fame, PN Sathya directed ‘Sundarapurusha’ Kannada cinema first in 2000 starring Shashikumar and Indraja in lead roles. His name was PN Sathya Murthy. In his career of over 16 years as director PN Sathya has given good encouragement to new talent. Some of the assistant directors of his camp are independent directors today.
PN Sathya married Kannada cinema actress of Thimmaraya (Sadhu Kokila film) heroine Sambhrama and he leaves behind wife and teenage son. He lived with his family in a house at Papareddy Palya.
Director of Don, Daasa, Saradaara, Udees, Shastri, Thangigaagi, Gooli, Kecha, Hatrick Hodi Maga, Sugreeva, Pagal, Jedarahalli, Bengaluru Underworld and Mari Tiger – he was known for lavish making and dashing subjects.
PN Sathya directed films of Darshan, Kichcha Sudeep, Dr Shivarajakumar, Vinod Prabhakar and others. He lived very simple in life. He had a different taste as an actor. PN Sathya acted in Thirupathi, Udees, Saradara, Dhruva, Kencha, Bidda, Chaitrada Chandrama, Gun, Ram Leela, Chennamma IPS, Pagal and other Kannada films.
