One of the long standing a demand of Kannada Chalachitra Academy was fulfilled by Bharathiya Janata Party government headed by Mr B.S.Yediyurappa the Chief Minister. He switched on the remote button to unveil the aspirations and goals of KCA on Friday evening at Banquet Hall Vidhana Soudha in the presence of other bigwigs of Kannada cinema. The logo and goals before the KCA was displayed on the screen in side the banquet Hall the power house of Karnataka politics.
The Karnataka Chief Minister did not make any special announcements and put the plate again of the last budget – increase in subsidy to 50 films from 30 films, Rs.5 crore grant for Amrutha Bhavana for Kannada cinema, increase award money for national awards, setting up of R.1 crore for Cinema Workers Welfare and the Anti Goonda Act is on the way to tackle the piracy in the state he said.
Remembering Dr.Rajakumar on this occasion the Chief Minister urged for the TS Nagabharana and team of KCA to work for the development and progress of the Kannada cinema industry. Happy to see the independent strength of Kannada cinema the CM said let KCA grow to the international standards. Concentrating on all activities let KCA create a very healthy atmosphere felt the CM. He also expressed his happiness on nominating T.S.Nagabharana as Chairman of KCA.
The Karnataka Information Minister Khatta Subramania Naidu pointing to Dr.Jayamala for not expressing gratitude to Government in her speech made the leading lady to come near the mike again and say sorry for forgetting to thank the government. The information minister Khatta said let the KCA not worry for funds. The CM Yediyurappa has sanctioned all needs and he would continue to give all he said.
The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce President Dr.Jayamala in a very stylish appearance with cooling glass above the forehead addressed the occasion with Chief Minister the head of the BSY sitting on stage and many seniors to her in the audience section.
The grant and time period of KCA has to be increased Dr.Jayamala made a point even before the grant announcement. As a matter of fact no grant announcement has been made yet for KCA. She urged the government of Karnataka to help in building cinema halls of 200 to 300 seating capacity in Taluk levels and that is the dream of former CM R.Gundu Rao she said. She hoped the KCA would work without any qualms in support of the government. The need of the hour is to create a good audience she said. The cinema industry should also help in the promotion of tourism said Dr.Jayamala.
The secretary of Kannada and culture Jayaramaraja Urs described the task before the KCA and said a road map to start with is essential and autonomous status given to KCA should be made use in right perspective he said.

5th June 2009 – is the day of evolution of Kannada Chalanachitra Academy – that coincides with the World Environment Day and the death anniversary day of doyen director of Kannada cinema S.R.Puttanna Kanagal.
The members of Kannada Chalanachitra Academy – Smt.K.H.Savitri, HN Maruthi, Jai Jagdeesh, Chindodi Bangaresh, MN Vyasa Rao, MS Gunasheelan and SN Ravishanker greeted the guests on the dais with books instead of bouquet or garland. In turn all the members of Kannada Chalanachitra Academy introduced by chairman T.S.Nagabharana were given a rose.
The Kannada Film Producers Association President KCN Chandrasekhar, Kannada Film Directors Association S.V.Rajendra Singh Babu, K.S.Ravindranath of Cinema Workers Federation and Ravikiran of Karnataka Television Association and others were present at the evolution day of KCA.
