The President of India Mr Pranab Mukerjee honored seven personalities from Kannada cinema industry on Tuesday evening at the valedictory of the four days Centenary Celebration of Indian cinema by south Indian cinema industry.
The achievers of Kannada cinema industry Smt Parvathamma Rajakumar, Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana, Dr Ambarish, SV Rajendra Singh Babu, BS Dwarakish, V Ravichandran and Veeranna of Shanthala and Veeresh theatres were honored with gold medal by President of India.
Prior to it Dr Jayalalitha, big achiever from Tamil cinema industry now Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu was honored first with a special memento and then honored followed MS Vishwanathan, Sridevi, Rekha, AVM Saravanan, Vyjayanthimala, K Balachander from Tamil cinema industry, Anjali Devi, K Vishwanath, K Bapu, K Raghavendra Rao from Telugu cinema industry, Madhavan Nair, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Chandran, Kunchako Bopan, Mammooty, Mohan Lal from Malayalam cinema industry.
The President also honored bigwigs of other film industries that included honor to Dr Amitabh Bachchan, Kiran V Shantharam, Randhir Kapoor, Ramesh Sippy, Kamal Barjatiya, Vinaykumar chamble, Javed Akthar from Hindi cinema industry.
The honor was also bestowed on Ramesh Deo, Seema Deo of Marathi cinema industry, Aparna Sen, Gautam Gosh, Prasanth Chaterjee of Bengali cinema, Naresh Kanodia of Gujarat, Preethi Sapru of Punjabi, Uttam Mahanthi of Oriya, Manoj Tiwari of Bojpuri and Zafia Wahid of Assam cinema industry.
Dr Jayalalitha TN Chief Minister, Dr K Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu, Kerala chief Minister Omman Chandy, Karnataka Information and Infrastructure minister Santosh S Lad, SIFCC President Kalyan, FFI President Vijay Khemki, Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu government Sheela Balakrishnan, SIFCC Secretary Ravi Kottarakara were seated on the dais.
