The Karnataka government is giving similar prominence it had given to Dr Rajakumar memorial even to Dr Vishnuvardhana memorial. The government allotted two acres of land at Kanteerava studios for Dr Rajakumar and 2 acres of land for Dr Vishnuvardhana memorial adjacent to Abhiman Studio. It had announced Rs.10 crore to the memorial of Dr Raj and now the same announcement came for Dr Vishnu memorial.

In the budget announced on Thursday in the legislative Assembly the Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa who is also the finance minister announced Rs.10 crore for the memorial of Dr Vishnuvardhana that is coming up adjacent to Abhiman Studio on the outskirts.

The government announced Rs.50 lakhs as ‘Kalyana Nidhi’ for cinema industry people is another boon to the Kannada cinema industry. The chief minister also mentioned about Rs.4 crores release so far for Dr Rajakumar Memorial at Kanteerava studios.

Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana is extremely happy for immediate sanction of fund for memorial and thanked the government for taking initiative. The Kannada Film Producers Association President KCN Chadnrasekhar expected the government notice on the film city and exhibition tax.

The President of KFCC Dr Jayamala lauded the government effort in setting aside Rs.50 lakhs to the film industry welfare fund.
