The newly elected members of Kannada Film Producers Association – President DK Ramakrishna (Praveen Kumar), K Manju, M G Ramamurthy, Ramesh Yadav, RS Gowda with Kari Subbu, Narasimhulu and others addressed the media on single point agenda ‘We want Percentage facility’.
The producer today is not in a position to dole out lakhs of rupees at the release time. The exhibitors asking for rent is a stress on producer. So we would implement the percentage facility from April 2 says DK Ramakrishna KFPA President.
A separate committee of three sectors is set up to decide on this issue. There is percentage already in multiplex theatres, in majority of theatres the rental system is on he pointed. We are also seeking computerized set up at all theatres so that everything is transparent.
Producer K Manju visited places like Chennai and Kerala to know the pattern of exhibitors in business of entertainment. We are seeking five percent extra from multiplexes in Karnataka he stated.
The introduction of percentage system is good for the new contents and new makers opined producer Ramesh Yadav.
The KFPA is also insisting on good upkeep of theatres all over so that the audience get better ambience to watch films.
