The pride of Kannada cinema the highly respected actress the outgoing President of KFCC Dr Jayamala was on a flashback mood when Dr Rajakumar junior KVR Ramu (a cop in state police) danced for the song Thai Thai Bangari…..of Girikanye Kannada film with other dancers.
When the fully packed Okkuta premises in Gandhinagar was curiously watching there was a big roar for once more of the song and dance. When the song was played in the audio system for the second time and Ramu in Lungi and Banian giving histrionics of Dr Rajakumar the leading lady of Kannada cinema Dr Jayamala came down from the dais in front of the huge tree where the dance was going on and stepped to the tune with junior Rajakumar. There was thunderous applaud and fireworks was burst at the memorable moment for the channels, photographers and thousand witnessed the event.
Looking very gleeful Dr Jayamala also became a bit emotional when ‘Udi Thumbuva’ event took place for her. It was the felicitation for the popular Dr Jayamala as the only lady President of KFCC in the last six decades plus. The bangles, Arashina tucked to her cheeks, Kumkuma applied on her forehead, a silk saree, blouse piece, beetle leaves plus beetle nuts plus fruits were presented to her looked very traditional.
Dr Jayamala who in fact personally also fond of such traditional rituals even in her home in her address to the mammoth attendance said this is the best felicitation of my life so far in 37 years of film career.
The Thai Thai Bangari…..of yesteryears even today maintaining the glamour in tact repented for having not done worthwhile to the cinema workers in her regime. I would stay with your problems of the cinema workers she pointed.
