With rain on the one side and no shine of films on the other side the urge to launch films has not dropped down. Looking at the last year results and this year’s 69 films results so far the sagging image of Kannada cinema industry is keeping film makers still busy and abuzz with activities means what? On the economic front the Kannada films are better? The investments are returning back? There is a minimum guarantee of assurance?
Yet the scores of films have launched on 8th and 9th of July. ‘Veera Bahu’ in Mysore, Rangappa Hogbitna, Subramanyapura, Thatasthu, Production No 1, 2012, Yuva Samrat, Vigna, Crazy Krishna, Naariya Seere Kaddha and on12th of July ‘Jogaiah’, Mathe Banni Prithsona, 12 AM, Hasivu, Ishta, Devare Devare, Ithihasa and of course ‘15’ of Master Kishan all commenced the production work.

For ‘Thatasthu’ the expected guests like SM Krishna and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi did not turn up. it was the aspiration of the film team Namana films. This is a Raghu Hassan film. Anaji Nagaraj is the producer. Joshwa Sridhar is the producer. Kantharaj of ‘Meravanige’ sounded the clap board. There was good beginning to this film, The romeo and Juliet, Sali Anarkali dressed dancers made way fro the new hero. Puneeth Rajakumar, Jedrarahalli Krishna, Premkumar, Gangaraju graced the occasion.
For Subramanyapura Kannada film Subash Bharani sounded the clap board. Shashikumar was seen at the muhuruth. Yuvaraj and Thavare are in the lead roles.
At Shiva Idol spot near Peenya the film ‘2012- Prayala Agutha’ was launched by Sharan Kabbur. Five youths are in the cast. Priya Krishna was present as the chief guest.
For ‘Vigna’ the first shot was placed on Sri Saibaba Idol as hero Vijaya Raghavendra did not turn up. Rajesh Ramanath, Adhi Lokesh, Shashikumar turned for this film taken up for direction by Ravi.
