Udaya TV, a pioneer in the Kannada television industry is known for its unique content presentation, especially the mass appealing concepts. With its array of serials, Udaya TV is coming with another brand new thought, first in the segment, which is focused on things we see on daily basis, body shaming. Yes, you heard it right, Udaya TV is offering a new serial highlighting the stigma in a light hearted unique love saga “Ananda Raaga”.
The protagonist of the story is Cheluvaraja, a metaphor to his name. Dark skinned by birth and out of shape as per societal requirements. Cheluvaraja is an only heir to the Dodda Gowda family. His mother Vasundhara is a senior lady who takes care of family run finances business. Vasundhara’s only wish and dream in life is to see Cheluva becoming her successor and take the business to higher level and also to get him married to an intelligent girl. Cheluva neither liked his school and studies nor interested in learning the societal requirements. A beloved son of Vasundhara, he was pampered always with whatever he wanted and he has been taken for granted by his two cousins constantly whenever they got an opportunity. Cheluva is a diehard fan of Rebelstar Ambarish and has a big tattoo of his matinee idol on his chest. He talks and behaves like Ambarish at regular intervals.
The Raaga in the love saga is Durga, a bright and shining star of the Shankar family. Born in the family of four, Durga is the elder daughter of Shankar, a police head constable and Chandrakala, a homemaker.
Durga has a little sister Bhavana, who lost her speech when she was two-year-old. The family resides in police quarters. Durga is the torch bearer of her father’s dream to see her as an IPS officer. Always no. 1 in studies, Durga is a medal collector from her school days.
How these two extremely different tracks collide and continue in life forms the crux of the saga. Played by the popular actors of the industry, Ananda Raaga has Manjunath playing as Cheluvaraja, Deepa Jagadish as Durga along with Keerthi Raj and Usha Bhandary playing as Durga’s parents. Vasundhara is played by Veena Sundar. The ensemble cast has other popular actors like Renuka, Mico Shivu, Geetha Suryavamshi, Bhaskar and many more.
The saga starts on 13 th March from Monday to Saturday at 7.30 PM on your favorite channel Udaya TV.
