There is happy news for the Kannada cinema industry! That is allocation of 2.5 acres – approximately 10697 sq feet – land next to Nandini theatre in Nandini Layout adjacent to Mahalakshmi Layout has been cleared for the ‘Amrutha Mahotsava Bhavana’.

Drawing his attention on the Amrutha Mahotsava Bhavana building the CM said 2.5 acre land has been identified near Nandini Layout in Bangalore. At this place the library, preview theatre, Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy etc would function. The chief minister felt unhappy as the function could not be held in grand style as the people of Northern Karnataka are suffering from floods. In the last budget the Karnataka government has allocated Rs.5 crores for the construction of this building that he declared at the Amrutha Mahotsava celebration.

The chief minister pointing to the progress of work at the Dr Rajakumar Samadhi at Kanteerva Studios said the first stage of work has been completed and Rs.3 crores for this has been used. The second and third stage of work would start immediately he stated. The glass house of Dr.Rajakumar is also in the mind of the government he stated. At this function the last letter written by Dr.Rajakumar was presented to the Karnataka Chief Minister.

According to eye witness account at Dr.Rajakumar Samadhi the progress is seen in a fast pace. On the ring road side the compound wall has come up and it is painted white. The cement stretch leading to Dr.Rajakumar Samadhi plus the swimming pool on right and left plus five pillars on both the sides and 20 cement plates give a new look now. Atop the Dr.Rajakumar Samadhi two huge cement structures have come up. That gives a feeling that the natural ventilation would be made available to the Dr.Rajakumar Samadhi spot.

Mr Lakshmipathy of Koratagere of Tumkur district who is at the Dr.Rajakumar Samadhi spot right from the day JCB was applied around the Samadhi is staying at this place since three years. Another woman Lalitha is also camping at this place for the day today work.
