The prominent hero of yesteryears and occasional actor today Ashok held the position of President of Kannada Cinema Workers Federation for a long time.

Many notable works took place in his regime as President of OKKUTA. He has resigned for the position now.

On 6th January, 2021 in a letter signed announced that he is resigning for personal reasons. He also remembers the good cooperation he has got from OKKUTA members in his terms as President for a long period.

To whom the resignation is addressed is not clear in the letter. Of course the resignation is in the personal letter head of veteran actor and OKKUTA President Ashok.
