From the average collection of Rs.20 crores from one film of Puneeth Rajakumar from the days of ‘Appu’ the recent release ‘Raj The Showman’ has gone beyond all collections. In just 50 days the gross collection of ‘Raj The Showman’ is Rs.25 crores is an astounding figure and proves that Kannada is no less compared to other languages.

The staggering Rs.25 crores collection came from the famous director Jayanna’s side is believable. According to Jayanna who owns a part of the distribution of ‘Raj The Showman’ the 50 percent of collection of Rs.25 crores is theatre rent. Yet that is also collection strength of Puneeth Rajakumar and Prem.

On Monday evening the huge Taj Mahal shape cake was cut by Puneeth Rajakumar, Srinivasamurthy the producer and director of Raj The Showman Prem in the presence of media.

The first week collection of ‘Raj The Showman’ is equivalent to silver jubilee collection announced by director Prem is what made the media to further dig at the 50 days collection of the film. Finally eminent distributor Jayanna described the rough figures.

On 50 days happy get together Rs.1 lakh was announced for the Chief Minister Relief fund for the flood victims of Karnataka.

Puneeth Rajakumar speaking on this occasion said it is happy on the one side and sorrow on the other side because the flood has affected the people of North Karnataka. The Dr Rajakumar Trust would announce the relief fund in a day or two said Puneeth Rajakumar.
