BNS, PRAVEEN AKKI GETS KEMPE GOWDA AWARDS

The 508 Nada Prabhu Kempe Gowda award given by Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike is conferred on our senior cinema journalist colleague of nearly four decades stint Sri B N Subramanya and noted journalist, highly respected from internet and television media Sri Pravin Akki - Suddi Samanvaya Sampadaka of ETV Bharat Kannada gets the pivotal award today evening.

Among others from cinema industry veteran actor Mukyamantri Chandru and veteran music director aged R Rathnam gets the Kempe Gowda award for 2019. The Kempe Gowda award carries Rs.50000 cash award, trophy, certificate as part honor.

Badoor Subramanya, Senior Film Journalist  authority on various topics in cinema gets the much deserved Kempe Gowda awards started his career four decades ago. Commencing from Chitradeepa film magazine BN Subramanya has worked in most of the film magazines and newspapers in his career.

He is now working as Freelance Journalist, contributing to Andolana Dinapatrike, Mysore besides other publications. Hailing from Kasargod BN Subramanya is a post graduate in Kannada Language and Literature from Calicut University in 1976. He worked as a lecturer at JSS College, Dharawad. During his College days, he was active in theatre. He was in NCC, attended several camps including advance leadership and mountaineering camp at Manali, in 1972 and a C certificate holder.

BNS popularly known as ‘Subbanna’ among the film journalist fraternity has been avid watcher of films at the international festivals.  Since 1992 he is covering International Film Festival of India, as media representative. He was one of the Editorial Board members of the book on History of Kannada Cinema, `Kannada Chitrarangada Itihasa’ published in two volumes by Kannada University, Hampi.

Associated with the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes) from its beginning in 2006 BNS lent his expertise at the right time for right people. He has been guide and torch bearer on many occasions.

 
He also served as advisory panel member of CBFC, Bengaluru R.O., and was one of the members of south 2 region for 62nd National Film Awards.
