Remembering the day of death of her father – 8th October, 1974 at that time when she was a child BR Vijayalakshmi the proud daughter a famous cinematographer today could not control the emotions. Reaching Bangalore on 8th October morning I called my father when you are coming back to Madras. I have reached Bangalore only now to look at the locations of MGR film ‘Madhurai Veettu Sundara Pandian’ he said. It was around 8 am but at 8.30 am we received a phone call my father had a massive heart attack. BR Vijayalakshmi remembering this incident removed her spectacles and immediately Dr B Sarojadevi came to her to control her emotions.

My father had his heart and soul was in Karnataka and he died here only said BR Vijayalakshmi a famous cinematographer with whom Suhasini Manirathnam worked as assistant.

I always remember this day as rich tribute is paid to my father said BRV. Before attending the twin program at Badami House organized by Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy BR Vijayalakshmi took a look at the photo exhibition of her father BR Panthulu.
