CORONA VIRUS IMPACT BANDH FOR WEEK

All public places are shut down in Karnataka for a week says the chief minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa as precautionary measure to avoid the further spread of Corona virus.

With one detection and death in Gulbarga, the symptoms found in a few others in Karnataka, the government has decided to impose this order.

That means the Malls, theatres; public functions etc there will be no gathering till further orders. As a result in Karnataka alone the losses is estimated at Rs.2000 crores, while the closure of Malls and theatres results in losses to the extent of Rs.60 to 70 crores.

As for as the Kannada cinema industry is concerned the shooting will continue as it is says the Producers Association President DK Ramakrishna. We have to obey the government decision is what KFCC President DR Jairaj and others stated.

The bandh atmosphere in Kannada filmdom reminds the kidnap of icon of Kannada cinema industry Dr Rajakumar on 30th July 2000 by fugitive Veerappa. Dr Rajakumar and four others were kept as hostage for 108 days. All the days the Kannada cinema industry did not function.
