Director's film, director's actor
Posted date: 13/December/2009

Director Guruprasad, who makes films that do not confirm with the regular Sandalwood format is back. After the success of Eddelu Manjunatha, there were reports that the Matha director was writing scripts for various actors including Naveen Krishna and Komal Kumar. He was even writing dialogues for an unnamed film starring Prem Kumar.

Finally, Guruprasad is back with a new film. The film is tentitively titled Director's Special but the Film Chamber has to clear this English name first. Komal Kumar is the lead actor in the film. Incidentally both the previous two films of Guruprasad had Komal's elder brother Jaggesh in the lead.

The film is about a director who makes a hero out of a nobody. Guruprasad says that he likes to work with actors who do not show starry airs. The director is not happy with the recent rules made by the Producers' Association that new directors would have worked as assistants for five films before taking independent projects. "The most important thing they should be worried about is why we are not making good films and attracting audience. Until that time I will not become member of the Directors' Association. I do not want to be part of an organisation that does not talk about creative work but only talks about unwanted issues. Unless everyone understands that films are an director's

medium we will not see good films," he said.

Guruprasad assures that Director's Special will be the best among all of Komal's films. "Komal is like clay. He can be moulded in any way the director likes." Komal said that he is a director’s actor. Producer Suresh who made ‘Eradane Madhuve’ earlier said that there is no doubt that this film would be liked by the audience.
