The lethargic making, no marketing tactics, no asker and teller for release of Kannada films in the first quarter has shown signs of debacle. Out of 55 films got released in Kannada it is only 7 films that earned back investment and profits in the box office.

Power star Puneeth Rajakumar, Darshan, Nikil Kumaraswamy won among stars, it is Rachita Ram clicking in first three months as her two films ‘Natasarvabhowma’ and ‘Seetharama Kalyana’ have done well in box office.

The emergence of digital platform for Kannada films has been a great source of energy. There is no doubt about it. Yet the small and medium film makers have no proper route to success.

In the first quarter seven films that clicked are – Birabal, Seetharama Kalyana, Natasarvabhowma, Bel Bottom, Chemistry of Kariyappa, Yajamana and Panchatantra were too good in the box office.

The expected films that bombed are Anuktha, Bazaar, Chambal, Udgharsha, Chaanaksha, Rajannana Maga, Yarige Yaruntu, Ammana Mane and a few others.
