The Karnataka state government has come to the help of needy artists of Kannada cinema on Wednesday afternoon at Kalavidhara Bhavan.

Food and Civil Supplies minister Gopalaiah, Member of Parliament Sumalatha Ambarish, Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy President Sunil Puranik, noted producer Rockline Venkatesh, Thara Anuradha, senior actor Doddanna and others were present to hand over 25 kilograms of rice and Rs.3000 reliance voucher to fifty plus artists. In all 800 plus artists would get this benefit.

Sumalatha Ambarish, Gopalaiah and others offered flower petals to the portrait of Dr Ambarish. In his address Gopalaiah recalled the support made by Dr Ambarish when he was the Housing Minister of Karnataka state in the past.

Actors Sadhu Kokila, Dingri Nagaraj, Bengaluru Nagesh, Chandrakala, Moogu Suresh and others were present at the rice and Rs.3000 Reliance voucher distribution time.
