I DID NOT GET SUPPORT S NARAYAN

Kala Samrat S Narayan soon after four and half hours Kannada chapter event at jawaharlal Nehru Indoor stadium in Chennai speaking to this correspondent stated that he did not get right support to the conduct of the event. There wers lapses only because of non cooperation that dogged the entire show.

Apparently it happened like the susicion what V Ravichandran expressed at the inauguration of rehearsals `we should not just dance and cpme`. Kannada cinema industry has just danced and come out without leaving a strong mark.

That does not mean there was dearth for song and dance. It out numbered and in excess it was fed.

What was deplorable was absence of top actors of Kannada cinema. Sept 24 grand final day there is a little space for Kannada as four language converge in the presence of President of India. The most space and opportunity was available for today participation. All top stars Shiv, puneeth, jaggesh, Darshan, Sudeep, Upendra, Ganesh, Vijay and a few others kept away. Perhaps this might have made S Narayan to declare that I had no cooperation.

However in getting history of Kannada cinema via voice over there were mistakes and script should have been consulted with senior writers or historians of Kannada cinema.

Among the guests for Sunday Kannada Chapter Home Minister KJ George, social welfare minister Umasri and Dr Kamal Hassan graced the function and brought cheer.

The program was just fifteen minutes late and cultural program, honor to 60 plus personalities and clips on the background were part of the event.

Only Home Minister, Umasri social welfare minister and Dr Kamal Hassan took the mike to say a few words.

The state anthem was performed for a few stanzas and Sadhu Kokila song Hachchevu Kannadada deepa concluded the event of Kannada chapter.
