JNANAPEETH AWARD FOR DR CHANDRASEKHAR KAMBARA

This is the 8th Jnanapeeth Award for a Kannadiga Dr Chandrasekhara Kambara – the highest literary award of the nation.

Dr Chandrasekhar Kambara with many accolades at the state and national level is now having one more feather in the cap.

He is folk literary personality, a playwright, actor, theatre, cinema, director too besides doing many literary works. The Jnanapeeth award he gets for his ‘Samagra Sahitya’. After Dr Girish Karnad, Dr Chandrasekhar Kambara

In Kannada cinema he started from ‘Sandarbha’ as music director and later on Kadu Kudhare for which Shimoga Subbanna got the national award for playback singing, Udugore and Sangeetha. He got the state award for Sangeetha.

Former vice chancellor of Hampi University he has directed Kadu Kudhere, Karimayi and Udugore. His works Singaravva Mathu Aramane was adapted on silver screen. Shikara Soorya, Kariamyi are also his works.

Dr Kambar a straight forward personality acted in Beladingalagi Baa as actor Vijaya Raghavendra grandfather representing peace.
