KRISHNA SANDESHA TO COUNCIL!

Out of the 25 personalities who got elected to the upper house Legislative Council in the recently held elections two prominent producers of Kannada cinema Sandesh Nagaraj an old horse and all time record hit film ‘Mungaru Male’ maker E Krishnappa have been got elected to the Legislative Council for the first time from Janata Dal S party.

While it has been long time ambition of Sandesh Nagaraj from Mysore it has been a few years of wish of ‘Mungaru Male’ producer E Krishnappa of Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bangalore.

Sandesh Nagaraj of more than six high budget films contested from Chamarajanagara and defeated his rival Prof KR Mallikarjunappa. Sandesh Nagaraj secured 3521 votes as against 2174 secured by the defeated candidate. E Krishnappa another winner from JDS got 1811 votes against Gopala Gowda of BJP who got 1664 votes from Bangalore rural seat.

Out of 25 seats 10 each is bagged by ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress I. Five seats have gone to JDS party. The strength of BJP in Legislative Council is 34 out of 75 seats. 21 seats belong to Congress I, 16 to JDS, 3 to Independents and one to JDU.
