One of the finest dialogue writers, actor in character roles Kunigal Nagabhushan passed away on Sunday morning on account of a heart attack. He was ailing for a long time and one of his legs was chopped for excess sugar. Yet he did not leave the urge to live.

The ailing writer of dialogues and comedy actor Kunigal Nagabhushan for losing one of his legs for acute sugar has got good gesture from the Kannada cinema industry - KFCC donated Rs. 50000, KFPA handed over Rs.25000, Sri Raghavendra Chitravani (Kiccha Sudeep award money), Udaya TV Film awards aid and the people of Karnataka contributed liberally.

Kunigal Nagabhushan was one of the members of SD Ankalagi Quality Subsidy committee that was appointed by the government of Karnataka.

Kunigal Nagabhushan last appearance was at Sri Raghavendra Chitravani annual day function and felicitation evening at The Bell Hotel. In my fifty years of career hundreds of producers have given me food. It is my long association and humble life kept me so long he quipped.

Kunigal Nagabhushan ailing for sometime recovering recently returned to acting after 10 years in ‘Agni Mushti’. Kunigal Nagabhushan obtained a degree in cinematography and came to cinema industry in 1961. After working in 40 films as assistant director, he independently directed films such as Ashirwada and Balu Jenu. Later he took up dialogue writing for films and stood as one of the pillars. He is the state award winner for Gowri Ganesha and ‘Yarigu Helbedi’ Kannada films as dialogue writer. As a dialogue writer he worked for over 200 films. He is also known in the small screen.
