NANJUNDE GOWDARIGE ?MAKKALA BHAGYA?!

In fame yes! NR Nanjunde Gowda is having the ‘Makkala Bhagya’ from his 6th International Children Film Festival – Bengalugu 2010. From the point of money he is with a begging bowl to meet the expenses of this meagerly funded festival by Karnataka government. Yet the challenge and strong will power of Gowda is appreciable.

The 6th annual International Children Film Festival, Bengaluru will be inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Dr BS Yediyurappa on 7th January at Dr Ambedkar Bhavan. In association with Karnataka Government this children film festival is conducted every year by Nanjunde Gowda with active participation of some of the bigwigs of the Kannada cinema industry. Super star Upendra is the brand ambassador for this festival.

The 6th International Children Film Festival is also taking place simultaneously at Mysore, Mandya, Hubli and Belgaum districts of Karnataka. A workshop on animation, screening of environment films, seminar on children film movement in India, role of mass media in creating environment awareness are chalked besides screening the children films for a week.

The 15 years below children story writing contest is the new attempt this time says Gowda. Three best stories will be given Rs.3000 cash prize and 10 others will be published in the book format.

In three Bangalore theatres – Movieland (3 shows), Navrang (1 show morning 9 am) and Bal Bhavan (3 shows) the film selected for the festival will be screened. The children films from India, Iran, Sweden, China, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, Mexico, Italy, USA, Chile, Switzerland, Tunisia, Denmark and Germany are taking part.

The Tamil film ‘Pasanga’, Telugu film ‘Amulyam’, Kannada films Beddadapurada Ditta Makkalu, Harun Arun from Gujarathi, ‘Tsunami’ from Hindi are the only Indian language films taking part in the 6th ICFF, Belgaluru-2010.
