The 32 annual birthday of Sri Raghavendra Chitravani coincided with the 8th annual awards looked genuine and unpretentious. All the speakers made a humble speech and the notable was director S.Mahender saying ‘Sathyave Namma Thayi Thande….again and again indirectly referring to the recent development in his personal life in a nut shell said this kind of ‘Prothsaha is Uthsaha’ for all us in the cinema field.

At the Bell Hotel huge hall on Sunday evening when the ‘Mungaru Male’ director Yogaraj Bhat and B.R.Lakshman Rao the ‘Male’ song writer came up to receive the award it was rain splashing was so coincidental.

On this well decorated and neatly designed Sri Raghavendra Chitravani awards evening the book on founder D.V.Sudheendra ‘Suddi Sethu Sadhaka’ compiled by Mahesh Devshetty and Vinayakram Kalagara both work for popular Vijaya Karnataka was released by Guru of DVS producer Ankalgi. Writers of the book Devshetty and Vinayak were felicitated on this occasion. All the journalists who were present received a book ‘Suddi Sethu Sadhaka’ that is in rectangular shape priced at Rs.120.

The surprise honor came to Mussanje Mathu director Mahesh and Ajantha Raju was however right thinking on the part of Sri Raghavendra Chitravani.

Music director V Sridhar and H.R.Bhargava returned the cash prize of Rs.5000 each for the good work of Sri Raghavendra Chitravani while yesteryears top actress Harini announced the money with some more as the seed money for the honor of film journalists in the aegis of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.

• It is 32/8/1000 said Bhargava pointing to 32 year 8th year awards and 1000 films completed by Sri Raghavendra Chtiravani.

• I am from Kugrama with the song of Punyakoti Sathyave Namma Thaayi Thande…Today Sathya has run away. It is like ‘Benki’. Nimma Harake Haaraike nanna mele jaasthi Irali.
• My shirt was torn when DVS came to the sets of ‘Mani’ near Seetha Nadhi Dhande. He saw it and took me aside and politely said you better wear a good shirt because your photograph has to be good. That way of approach was impressive.
• DVS recognized my write up and showed the way. I remember my Guru Agni Sridhar – Shradde and Pramanikathe has value. ‘Slum Bala’ may clinch more awards but I don’t forget this one given here by Suresh anna.
• I am not connected to cinema but Sugama Sangeetha. I wrote Baa Maleya 25 years ago and for film Rickey Kej used it for emotion moment and his tuning is good. I would say Yogaraj Bhat to take my already written work.
• Sayodhakke Munche Nannanthaha Hasya Kalavidarige Koti Koti cinema maduva producers ondhu sanna pathra kottu Hana Kodi – We will die in satisfaction - Rathnakar. I am 80 years. In the acting field since 55 years. Let the producers today give job to those who struggled, took part in movements of Kannada cinema to construct it.
• The God takes the good people always quickly. DVS is one such person. Before God took DVS he has made him to take up ‘Mahatkarya’ and earned a place in our hearts – K.C.N.Chandrasekhar.
• DVS had good sense of humor. I would look in to what Harini had told. In fact she is the only actress who said start up ‘Kalyana Nidhi for artists’.
• I don’t know anything other than ‘Oota and Cinema’ KSL swamee – He sung the song Manave Mandhira…..and wondered how almighty has given strength for a small seed to grow like huge banyan tree. Any award like Jnanapeeth Award for cinema it should go to Hunsur Krishnamurthy – he had written on all areas. Behind any movement the ‘Manava Shakthi’ and grace of god is important. In our days Elentu Harakke Gathi Irlilla. Money goes away but Momentum stays for ever.
• The uniqueness of the event of Sri Raghavendra Chitravani was noted director the Chairman of Cinema Academy T.S.Nagabharana proposing a vote of thanks. I am also a member of Sri Raghavendra Chitravani he said. ‘Suddhi Gellodhu andhre Idhu’ he mentioned in the days of blogs, CDs, dotcoms having a freak out time.
  

• Mrs Sangeetha Katti rendered a beautiful song in Hindustani style on Sri Ragavendra Swamy received much applaud. Yeeranna – AS Murthy conducted the two hours plus awards evening in his usual wit and humor.

   

  Mr Sudheendra Venkatesh, D.S.Sunil and D.G.Vasu made thorough arrangements and there was no confusion for anything at all. Smt.Padma Sudheendra wife of D.V.Sudheendra was seen among the audience with other family members.
