At last the match winning situation for Khandaya and Visthara team of ‘Kabbaddi’ the first film in Kannada based on a desi sports. Director Narendra Babu, producer Ravi is extremely happy for the fine shape up of the film in Rs.1.85 crores even though it consumed one and half years. The first print of the film will be ready by Jan 1st week of 2009 and film will be on silver screen in February.

The happiness is because two buyers – music director and lyricist of the film Hamsalekha and top producer Sandesh Nagaraj have come forward. Hamsalekha made attempts to secure the film to his side while Sandesh Nagaraj came forward to give Rs.5 lakhs each for the investors of this film plus the investment made. The ‘Kabbaddi’ team did not budge. They did not cross the crease.

Such developments indicate the quality of the film while an actor like Avinash after dubbing for the film did not take the agreed amount saying he is happy with the final outcome of the film is a double bonanza for already struggling ‘Kabbaddi’ team.

As of now the film ‘Kabbaddi’ released the audio album consisting of five songs. Hamsalekha was not present because the team of Kabbaddi could not clear his full payment while the controversial Kishore was missing at the audio release. Kishore photograph is also not seen in the posters – director Narendra Babu gives lame excuses. However Kishore is in touch with others in the ‘Kabbaddi’ team but not the director Narendra Babu he agrees to this point.

Two national and international sports personalities SD Eshan the shot-put player and weightlifter Satish Raj jointly released the audio album. One of the five songs in the album is not utilized in the film and reason is lack of funds.

The Kabbaddi sports player Praveen who has represented the national team and state representative Priyanka Naidu play the lead role. It is for this film the 40 players at the national level participated in the real national level Kabbaddi competition that took nearly 20 plus lakhs says Narendra Babu.
