RS.40 LAKHS LOSS TO `SHANKER IPS`
Posted date: 1/June/2010

What ever said and done the over all loss from stopping of the film ‘Shanker IPS’ for three days is Rs.40 lakhs. Saturday and Sunday is the boon to film starring action hero Vijay. Those two days and today Monday the screening have been stopped in over 60 theatres resulted in Rs.40 lakhs loss in collection by looking at Rs.2.25 crore collection in seven days in the last week for ‘Shanker IPS’.

The hapless K Manju reeling under losses from his previous half a dozen films was recovering his losses but the objections raised by the Judiciary for the word ‘Dallalli’ (middleman) cost heavily for the film.

The city civil court upheld the objection made and asked the stopping of screening till June 5. But on Monday the judge Satish Singh took the right decision and satisfactory reply has put everything in right order. With all pacification Judge Satish Singh ordered for screening of the film that took place in the evening of Monday at GM Rejoyz digital auditorium.

Now the decks are cleared. K.Manju and MS Ramesh producer and director of the film got clean chit after muting some of the scenes for which objections were raised.

In the days of entire Kannada filmdom losing heavily in the box office this kind of Rs.40 lakhs loss to producer was unwanted.
