SAD END OF MICHAEL MADHU

A dance trainer turned comedy actor of over 300 films in Kannada Michael Madhu passed away on Wednesday night at the lock down period. He was taken to Kims Hospital for treatment but declared he died of heart attack before reaching hospital.

This comedy actor has made his presence as ‘Beggar’ in over 30 films in Kannada. He had given stiff competition to Biradar who is also specialist in that role in Kannada filmdom.

Michael Madhu alias Madhusoodhan a resident of Chamarajapet for over 30 years was perfect to English proverb ‘Comedians seldom laugh’. There was no big way of life for this actor.

Michael Madhu was basically a dancer. He was working in Vijaya Film Institute and was training over 300 students at 1980s.

He taught dance to Silk Smitha in Samayakkondu Sullu. Silk Smitha asked him to come to Tamil films. The responsibility at home detained him in Bengaluru. Silk Smitha before 15 days of her death called up Michael Madhu and inquired about him.

Michael Madhu in his profession taught dance for Prakash Rai, Sudeep, Dilip, Vijayalakshmi at his JP Nagar institute.

It was Vinod Alva who learnt dance early in the morning picking him from motorbike invited him for a film ‘Singaru Bangari’. Later Ashwamedha of Kumar Bangarappa got him good break. After that films like Love Training, Ssh…A, Om, Nilambari, Yajamana, Nam Yajamanru, Asura, Suryavamsha, Joke Falls, Kushalve Kshemave, Tayi Illada Tabbali, Gokarna, Joot, Kambala Halli, Naagarahavu, Amma Ninna Tolinalli, Apsara, Grama Devathe, Rashtra Geetha, Yarige Beda Duddu, Police Officer, Vaali, Indradhanush….his list continues.

Dr Vishnuvardhana was very fond of Michael Madhu and he wanted him to be on board in his films.

In ‘Barsaat’ Hindi film Michael Madhu worked as dance director = Bobby Deol, Twinkle Khanna film produced by Dimple Kapadia. He got Rs.5 lakhs remuneration in those days. It is perhaps the biggest of his career.

He leaves behind wife Kavitha, daughters Nayana and Nisarga. The wish of Michael Madhu was to become a director like his colleague Kapil. It did not happen in his life.
