SANDEEP MALANI ON UNIVERSAL ISSUE IN 'JO JO LAALI'

This time Sandeep Malani is not '6 to 60'! He is from birth till death caught up with a subject for 'Jo Jo Laali' a forty minutes thought provoking cinema. On the raging issue dogging the social life AIDS he has made a crisp subject and narration of it is also beautiful.

'Jo Jo Laali' centers around a mother and child. A dancer by profession fasicinated with the ad photographer the love affair turn in to building a new relationship. This is not wanted for the ad photographer. But the hapless Kalpana delivers a child and nourish it. After some years the child falls sick. That is Chinnu affected by HIV. Dr Ishwar Giladi who tests the child recommend for mother to undergo the test and she also finds it positive. Unfortunately the Chinnu dies but Kalpana makes a new beginning in life. She becomes a consultant on AIDS being AIDS patient.

Sandeep Malani the former journalist turned director from '6 to 60' has made an interesting screeplay. He wants to add forty minutes more to this and make a feature film in the coming days.

Malani shot for six days in Mumbai for this film in the latest DVD Red Camera. Produced in House of Pandit banner Kalpana Pandit plays the lead role. Known in the 13 plus Hindi films in various kinds of roles Kalpana hails from Mysore. She is now working in Ganesh Venkataram cinema in USA. She has worked in Gajagamini, Moksha and others films.

Malani had two screenings of this film at Renukamba and he had arranged for special screening for media on Monday morning. He is sending 'Jo Jo Laali' that has English subtitles to national level competitions.

Kamal Lokhandwala is the cameramanman and Ganesh narayan is the choreographer for this 40 minutes film. Akash Hora, Shrey Tejas, Sanjay Kerwani, Ruby Anand, Pulkeet Agarwal and Dr Ishwar Giladi are in the cast.

This short film will be screened at AIDS event in Hyderabad in October this year. Sundeep Malani has penned the story, screenplay, and dialogues besides directing the film.

The Kannada films songs of yesteryears are used in this short film.
