The stormy petrel of tabloid journalist, multi talented, multi tasking personality with strong nerves to call spade a spade Ravi Belegere era ends. It has been 62 years of ‘Good, Bad and Ugly’ stages of life he surpassed

The founder Editor of ‘Hai Bangalore’ Black and White sensation on September 25, 1995 Ravi Belegere grew heaps and bounds.

His early life was bad with poverty and bad was when he stood against all odds, (he was a room boy, receptionist, milk seller, medical representative, printing press owner, theater gatekeeper, lecturer in history travelled from Ballari to Hassan and settled in Bengaluru in 1984)  he earned enemies, Good is because he comforted his life and hundreds of others with ability and nobility.

The ‘Prarthana School’ in Padmanabhanagara that has nearly 14000 children with no donation the concept of Ravi Belegere is the biggest contribution of this ‘Akshara Brahma’.

In the media he made a round but finally settled in ‘Hai Bangalore’ and another memorable weekly magazine ‘O Manase’. No doubt that Ravi Belegere cleared the tears of so many in his long and successful career.

Ravi Belegere worked in dailies like ‘Samyuktha Karnataka, Kannada Prabha, weekly Karma Veera’ a student of late Shama Rao in Samyktha Karnataka passing hurdles in the young age stood up like a rock pillar till his last breath. The person with great dreams came with Rs.400 from Ballari district to Bengaluru. As he himself declared he is worth over 250 crores in assets and properties.

In his difficult days in Bengaluru he used to sleep in the Bus Stands with one cloth to wear another one in the laundry. A voracious reader cultivated the habit of voracious reading among the youths of Karnataka from his writings and books.

Writing, anchoring, acting, debating, traveling, publishing house, studying, witnessing great events, developing new concepts all happened in the 62 years of Ravi Belegere. From writing media to YouTube media he traveled according to times.

A writer of over 70 books some of his are his own columns like ‘Khaas Bath’, ‘Bottom Item’ in Hai Bangalore Ravi Belegere completed his last edition for 12th of November, 2020 late in the evening and in the early hours of Friday – 12.30 am he was moved to a permanent rest due to heart attack.

As an actor Ravi Belegere was seen in films like Deadly Soma, Encounter Dayanayak, Ganda Hendathi and a Boy Friend, Meera Madhava Raghava, Maadesha, Vaarasdaara, Ball Pen, Devravne Buduguru and others.

Ravi Belegere married his senior teacher in the school where he was a student. That is Lalitha. He declared very recently that his father is ‘BICHI’ topnotch literary giant. Ravi Belegere blessed with Bhavana and Chetana daughters plus Karna from first wife. Ravi Belegere second wife Yashomathi is blessed with a son Himavanth.

Ravi Belegere was honored with Karnataka Rajyotsava award, Karnataka Madhyama Academy award for lifetime achievement, Karnataka Sahitya Academy among others.
