5th of every month is celebrated as Bus Day. On this day the prestigious three decades old Lahari Recording Company one of the proprietors Velu alias G Thulsiram Naidu traveled in the morning in Pushpak BMTC bus from Mekhri Circle to Vidhana Soudha and later from Vidhana Soudha to Chamrajpet to reach his office Lahari Recording Company.

It is after 29 years Lahari Recording Velu traveled in the city bus. I had a good experience and intend to supply the lovely poets CD’s to all BMTC buses when once the government of Karnataka install the audio system in the buses Lahari Velu declared in a chat with www.chitratara.com

The Editor of www.chitratara.com R Manohar captured the Lahari Velu city bus traveling moments in the morning. Velu is coming back to house from Chamrajpet in the BMTC bus. He has not used the BMW or Verna or Benz car for his travel to office today. I had to spend only Rs.12 to reach my office in Chamrajpet disclosed Velu. In the ordinary days his reach to office cost him Rs.50 to 75 rupees for one way journey.

Recounting his experience Velubhai as he is affectionately known said he had to wait for 40 minutes to get a bus to reach the Vidhana Soudha stop. In the meantime many buses that went pass the bus stand where Velu stood did not answer his query properly. Not only this when he went inside the Pushpak bus he was addressed in Hindi as ‘Ticket Lena hai Bhai’. Velu immediately told the conductor why you can’t first speak in Kannada. The commuters inside the bus supported Velu as he sat next to an old woman for his travel. Velu has aversion to keeping currency notes in the pockets had unfailingly kept Rs.10 notes for traveling in city bus.

I have the fullest satisfaction in the travel but this waiting is boring. In half an hour I came to my office that is 12 kilometers from my residence in RT Nagar. The real enjoyment was when I could freely attend the mobile calls, hear to music and could think about what I should do today in the office went through my mind says Velu.

The only grouse what Velu has from his bus travel today is that the proper timing had to be maintained and public should be attended when they come up with queries. Waiting for 40 minutes means inhaling pollution and wastage of time Velu stated.
