In the coronavirus time another eminent personality from Kannada cinema industry financier and theatre owner M V Subramanya passed away on Thursday afternoon– it is not because of corona virus but because of sudden heart attack for 74 years veteran financier of 200 Kannada films, owner of Mahalakshmi and Rajarajeshwari theatres and Udayaranga Transport proprietor the last call came from Yama Raja.

Ever smiling, tip top in his costumes MV Subramanya graduated from SJP Polytechnic in the batch of veteran actor Pranayaraja Srinath. Subramanya was an Automobile engineer while Srinath was studying in Cinematography division.

MV Subramanya elder brother was MV Chandrashekar  a veteran old horse in Congress I politics who was three time MP from Kanakapura &  Finance Ministry in PV Narasimha Rao regime as Prime Minister. MV Subramanya's father was also a respected politician in Mandya district.

MV Subramanya leaves behind his wife Smt Usha and son Abhishek in the family. He has huge friendship in Kannada cinema industry. Over 200 films from black and white time, Subramanya never wanted his name to come in the media. He was very shy.

It was during the Aptha Mithra time that he came before the media and that too by compulsion. His close friend Chinne Gowda, another financier disclosed that for Dwarakish, Soorappa Babu, Ramu and scores of film producers my friend Subramanya was back bone.

The final rites of Subramanya MV will be held tomorrow behind his Mahalakshmi theatre in Malavalli Taluk. At his RMV house the arrangement is made to pay last respect from 6 am to 10 am on Friday.

Let MV Subramanya soul rest in peace. He was no doubt a gem of a personality.
