Although the shades of this film have come out in the past especially in ‘Moggina Manasu’ where 3 girls and 3 boys appear in lead roles, the same is the case with ‘Yaana’.

The second half narration of debacle faced girls bouncing back with firm mind and overcoming the trauma is very well narrated in this ‘Yaana’. The maturity added more to characters in this strikes. Nandini character facing the utmost trauma giving a speech in her own college looks the early days of Vijayalakshmi Singh.

A mother of three heroines handling direction obviously gives room to dominance. This has in fact happened in the film. In the first half they trio surface one after the other with songs and background narration. In the second half all of them appear on screen providing some excellence too.

We have Maya (Vybhavi) grown in solid affection parents Anant Nag and Suhasini. She wants to become a DJ. In her programs she is once rounded off in the drugs case for no mistake. She is supposed to be in police station that harms the reputation. In a fit of anger mother of Maya tells the truth that you would not give up your father nature. Maya is disenchanted. She wants to find her real father that is a famous musician Ravishanker. In the college she is in love with Rahul (Chakravarthy).

Second one is Anjali (Vaisiri) from a village background family. By force she has come to Bengaluru to study architecture and enjoy free life. She is given a debit card to spend and she is over possessive of Sumukha. That leads to complications. Immature Anjali takes wrong step of consuming poison.

In comes dare and dashing Nandini. She has a poor family background. She is ready to take on risk when girls are in danger. The same girl is in danger when she contests for college election. Nandini romancing Abhishek is in what’s app and that is a major setback. She has slashed Abhishekh in the college and contest of election is also against him. Posing as good friend Abhishek deceives Nandini.

At the interval point all three disenchanted girls – Maya, Anjali and Nandini are sitting in a metro station. Anjali falls on the floor and the two were forced to take her to hospital. At this stage all three become friends and they take a journey. Wherever they go, it is something good happening for others but not for them.

How the trio rules the roost is crux of Vijayalakshmi Singh direction that is very well scripted. The courage finally three girls give is a message of this film.

Third generation of artists from Shanker Singh and Pratima Devi family – daughters of actress, director Vijayalakshmi Singh and actor, director and producer Jai Jagadish – Vybhavi, Vainidi and Vaisiri have done their roles very well in the second half. Acting is in their blood is known on many occasions from the trio.

Three boys – Sumukha has good role and so is Abhishek and Chakravarthy. They all look good and have good future.

In Just brief presence are Ravishanker, Chikkanna, Sadhu Kokila, Shivraj KR Pete, MN Lakshmi Devi, Sundar Veea, Ramakrishna and Madhusudhan Reddy. The track of Rangayana Raghu, Veena Sunder and Deepa is very well scripted. Anant Nag and Suhasini after long gap together are always a treat to watch for their brilliant portrayal.

Three are lovely from music composer Joshwa Sridhar. The exteriors of cameraman Karm Chawla is extremely good. Editing should have been crisp or rather director should have edited before shoot.

Among the dialogues –‘Hedarkondre Naayi attiskondu Baruthe, Tirugi Bidre Huli saha Hedarkondu Hoguthe is well matched to the present generation.

This is worth a family watch.
