ANOTHER STALWAR MS RAJASHEKHAR NO MORE

One of the leading directors of yesteryears M S Rajashekhar passes away after a brief illness. He was suffering from breathing ailment.

The director of super hit films like Nanjundi Kalyana that ran for one year in the theatres giving a solid ground for Raghavendra Rajakumar and Malashri (remember for Gundu song…Olage Seridare Gundu) made his beginning in the 80’. He was a permanent camp member of Dr Rajakumar. Assistant to various films commenced as director from Dr Rajakumar ‘Dhruvathaare’.

In fact MS Rajashekhar had good background in theatre was son of well known make up man MS Subbanna. He evinced interest in novel based films that has love content in it.

He was a clap boy in Kasthuri Nivasa in Dorai Bhagwan direction. He grew from assistant director to associate director.

Ever since 1985 independent director Dhruva Thaare a super hit film he did not turn back. In the 90’s his films raked good popularity starring Dr Shivarajakumar. Ratha Sapthami, Mana Mechchida Hudugi, Ade Raga Ade Haadu, Anuraga Aralithu,  Gajapathiya Garvabanga, Dharma Pathni, Baale Hombale, Asegobba Meesegobba, Hrudaya Hrudaya, Mannina Doni, Anukalakkobba Ganda, Gandu Sidigundu, Halli Rambe Belli Bombe, Suthradara, Midida Shruthi, Purushottama, Chira Bandavya, Navibbaru Namagibbaru, Muthanna, Yarige Saluthe Sambala, Dakota Express, Ravi Shastri etc followed in his career.

It is MS Rajashekhar film ‘Nan Hendthi Madhuve’ former KFCC President Kannada activist Sa Ra Govindu turned protagonist in the film.

MS Rajashear son Raghavendra acted in ‘Bala Shiva’ and debuted as director from Dhool Kannada cinema.His career was in good zoom for this humble and simple director since 2006.
