Amidst several obstacles posed by Corona Virus for the movement of stranded people from Qatar to India in
particular, another major milestone has been achieved by a common man working for the cause of many, Mr.
Subramanya Hebbagelu. Running around from door to door, approaching Indian Embassy at Qatar, Ministry of
External Affairs, Government of India, Civil Aviation ministry, Chief Minister’s office, Government of Karnataka,
Health ministries, COVID operations offices and listening to cry, pain, agony and suffering of many Indian,
Kannadigas in plenty, Mr. Subramanya along with his team of selfless and dedicated social workers, Mr. Mahesh
Gowda, Vice President, ICBF and Mr. Nagesh Rao, President, Karnataka Sangha Qatar were able to arrange a
dedicated chartered flight for evacuating the needy people in Qatar originating from Karnataka to their native lands.
Second flight to Bangalore from Doha, Qatar scheduled to depart from Hamad International Airport, Doha on 15th
June 2020 has been arranged by Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) in association with other Karnataka based
organizations in Qatar with the guidance and cooperation from ICBF (Indian Community Benevolent Forum) serving
under the Aegis of Embassy of India, State of Qatar.

This chartered flight was arranged considering the large number of Kannadigas who had to be evacuated due to lack
of jobs, medical backgrounds, lack of proper living standards, people stranded with temporary visas and such other
specific necessities all caused by COVID 19 and its cascading impact on the day to day life of society in general.

The 180 passengers along with 6 infants travelling onboard form the second batch to return to Motherland within a
month. These passengers have confirmed in advance regarding the terms and conditions to be adhered under
quarantine after landing in Bangalore. The applicable rules and regulations from the Government of Karnataka and
Government of India shall be applied to all the arrived passengers as agreed prior to flight arrangements.
