The challenging star Darshan starring ‘Munirathna Kurukshetra’ and ‘Yajamana’ were awarded the most popular first and third prize respectively in the Kannada popular entertainment category and Bell Bottom gets the second prize.

The valedictory day on Wednesday evening was held for the 12th BIFFEs at banquet hall Vidhana Soudha. Karnataka governor was present to give away the awards in other categories.

In the Asian Cinema NETPAC the first prize goes to Thailand film Happy Old Years. In the Chitrabharathi Indian cinema competition best Indian cinema award category ‘Panghrun’ gets the best film while ‘Biryani’ and ‘Jwlwi (The Seed) gets special jury award, International critics jury awards goes to ‘The Dog and his man’.

In the Kannada Cinema competition section – given by Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy ‘Kavalu Daari’ first production of Power star Puneeth Rajakumar in Hemanth Rao direction, Ondu Shikariya Kathe of director Sachin Shetty , Ranganayaki bags the awards and special jury mention was made for the film ‘Selfie Mummy Google Daddy’.

The NETPAC international Jury award is bestowed on ‘Pingara’ Kannada and Tulu film.
