The eleven years appeal for Dr Vishnuvardhana Memorial has been heard officially today at 5.5 acres of land at Halaalu village land near Udduru in Mysuru.

The Bhumi Pooje was held at the above place. In one year the target is fixed for the Dr Vishnuvardhana Memorial. It is around this place the Pune Film Institute Karnataka branch is likely to take shape.

After 11 years of demise of legendary actor Dr Vishnuvardhana the memorial coming up is a sigh of high relief for Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana. At the Bhumi Pooja today the Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa performed the online Pooja. The leaders of Mysuru in the political field GT Deve Gowda, A Ramdas and family members of Dr Vishnuvardhana were present.

Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana immensely thanked the Karnataka Chief Minister for giving top priority.  Three days before the 70th birth anniversary of Dr Vishnuvardhana the memorial was inaugurated.

Karataka government allocated Rs.11 crore for this project. There will be 6 feet height Dr Vishnuvardhana statue. There will be library; acting school, theatre auditorium, place for conducting film festivals etc are planned. The library has special photos of the costumes of Dr Vishnu, his awards etc are kept in the museum.

Apparently the memorial is coming up at the most liked place of the legendary actor Dr Vishnuvardhana. After the demise of Dr Vishnuvardhana on December 30, 2009 the place where he was cremated next to Abhiman Studio was fixed as a memorial place on 2 acres of land. Lot of legal hassles made Dr Bharathi move to Mysuru. Last year June 1 was allocated for the beginning of memorial work. At this point also in Mysuru a few farmers raised objections. The petitions of them have been rejected in the court.
