FIRST WOMAN MUSIC DIR SHYAMALA G BHAVE NO MORE

The veteran Karnatic and Hindustani classical music singer Dr Shyamala G Bhava who passed away today morning – Friday, 22nd May 2020 at 6.30 am is internationally acclaimed. The legend was 79 years. There is no doubt about this ‘Gaana Visharade’.

It is Shyamala G Bhave composed music for a Kannada film in 1976 – Parivarthane, directed by Dr VR Chitagopi, father of Vaishali Kasaravalli. ‘Parivarthane’ Kannada cinema shaped up the first woman music director. Parivarthane Kannada film starred Edakallu Chandrasekhar, Vaishali Kasaravalli, Shivaram, Shanthala and others. Verghese produced the film and TH Rama Rao was cameraman of that film.

Dr Shymala G Bhave got connected to another Kannada cinema ‘Hamsageethe’ in the later stages. The humming voice of Rekha Rao in ‘Hamsageetha’ was stored for the film by another legend Dr M Balamuralikrishna for that musical film.

Later in ‘Putnanja’ Kannada film Shyamala G Bhave delivered a stanza for the film of V Ravichandran a super hit Kannada film.

Dr Shyamala Bhave was honored by San City Developers in 2015 as ‘Naada Tilaka’ and later KIMA (Karnataka International Music association) honored the legend Dr Shyamala Bhave with lifetime achievement award.

The school run by Dr Shyamala G Bhave behind Seshadripuram College is very famous. Hundreds of students learnt music and flourishing today in music field.
