One of the reformed dons hailing from Karnataka Muthappa Rai, founder of Jai Karnataka party breathed on Friday early morning 2.30 am.

Another era of underworld don has come to an end. Muthappa Rai was suffering from acute cancer. He declined to take expensive medicines to overcome it.  I would use such money for people and said ‘Death is nearing me’ in early January 2020.

Muthappa Rai is closely connected to Kannada filmdom. He acted in Tulu film ‘Kanchilda Baale’ (2011) and he was regarded high for his social service activities after giving up underworld activities.

The first one to announce a film of life sketch of Muthappa Rai was producer Dhanraj of H20 and a few others. Way back in 2005 Dhanraj announced the film. In Om Prakash Rao directed Dhanraj announced that Darshan will be playing the role.

Apparently Darshan role in ‘Chakrvarthy’ resembled the life of Muthappa Rai. Stormy petrel Ravi Belegere TV shows featured Muthappa Rai in three episodes.

In the later days the role of ‘RAI’ film will be lead by Kichcha Sudeep it was told. But finally Ramgopal Verma has made ‘RAI’ with Vivek Oberoi.  RGV told that Muthappa Rai can kill me in case the film is not a hit. RGV after meeting Muthappa Rai declared the meeting was amazing in 2015. He even tentatively thought of ‘Father of all Godfathers’ for the film.

Meanwhile Muthappa Rai was backbone for his friend Padmanabha films ‘College Kumara’ and ‘John Jaani Janardhana’ – College Kumara in Hari Santhu direction featuring Vicky, Ravishanker, Shruthi held the audio release at the estate of Muthappa Rai.

The murder of a realtor, Subbaraju, in January 2001 by hired killers from Mumbai following a dispute over a prime property in Bengaluru. In other cases on the issue of ‘Protection Money’ he was acquitted for lack of substantial information on his career in crime.
