NISHKARSHA RE-RELEASE ON SEPT 20th

The achievers team of 26 years ago from the film ‘Nishkarsha’ is back again. It is sad that Dr Vishnuvardhana  and music director Guna Singh are not living today.

However the debut production and white collar villain BC Patil who was then an inspector of Karnataka Police is re-releasing the film ‘Nishkarsha’ spending Rs.1 crore on the technology. He made this film in Srushti Banner. His daughter was just two years when this film was made.

It was November 1993 ‘Nishkarsha’ (strong shades of Bruce Willis Die Hard) was first released. It was mono sound. Today it is DTS 5.1 sound and converted to digital technology for screening. 25 years ago it was released in Santosh and Triveni theatre – it had combined run of 106 days. It was not big profit for BC Patil production but distributors and exhibitors reaped good profits.

Recalling some of the facts of the past BC Patil is anxious to release the film on the occasion of Dr Vishnuvardhana birth anniversary. Two days later the film is releasing in this month – September 20th. Jayanna Combines is releasing in Karnataka. The Hindi version of ‘Nishkarsha’ is also releasing on the same day. Ishwar has done the technical work for this film.

It is silver jubilee in years for ‘Nishkarsha’ says Sunil Kumar Desai. He recounted how the film was made. Giving white collar criminal role to BC Patil taking out his moustache, Dr Vishnu and Ananth Nag grand appearance, the fans not happy for Vishnu appearance after 45 minutes of the film, the pigeons story, the High Court stay for public disturbance of shooting at Manipal Towers surroundings, how HUDCO office was converted as set of a Bank for shooting, the first idea of having bank robbery for the film at the top floor…and a few others came up in Sunil Kumar Desai a terrific film director memory.

Gurukiran as an actor made debut in this film, Suman Nagarkar in a rape scene of this film recounted her experience, Vanaja Patil wife of BC Patil disclosed how her daughter Srushti was averse to go near to Dr Vishnu looking at the film.

It was 56 days shoot with P Rajan as cameraman that was much talked about. After 25 years the technical grandeur is sure to treat the fans and it is best only when you watch on big screen hopes everyone.
