The legendary personality Dr.Rajakumar who is everlasting stamp in the minds and hearts of millions of people is now coming out in the form of a postal stamp!

Dr Rajakumar postal stamp of Rs.5 releasing on this November 1 is not only Kannada Rajyotsava Koduge but also a pride for every Kannadiga.

Dr Rajakumar deserves this credential and according to Postal and Telegraph Rules the stamp of legendary personality comes only after 10 years of his death. But the reason behind Dr.Rajakumar stamp coming up within four years of his death is because of the intervention of Prime Minister Dr Manamohan Singh. The early release of Dr.Rajakumar postal stamp is a biggest honor the PM gives to the people of Karnataka.

It may be recalled the postal stamp release even before the 10 years of death was in the case of Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, Madhava Rao Scindia and a few others. Dr Rajakumar name automatically comes under this list.

4 lakhs stamps of Rs.5 are releasing in the first bunch and the function related to this release is taking place at Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha that is opposite to General Post Office in Bangalore.

Along with Dr.Rajakumar the postal stamp of writer RK Narayan is also coming out.
