A Kannada and Tulu film selected for the screening at the 12th Bengaluru International Film festival produced by Avinash U Shetty and DN Manjunath Reddy is about ‘Word of God’. The rich cultural backdrop of Tulu community is laced in this film and set at the coastal belt pertains to Daiva, Bhootha Kola (holy spirits).

In this film Dalits are believed to have the ability of summoning spirits on to their bodies at will and hence are considered godly. As a matter of fact ‘Pingara’ means areca flower is woven around this unique culture.

Neema Ray walked in the beaches to get darkness on her face for this film purpose. Well known actress Usha Bhandari recalled the 13 days shoot that was very hectic. She has performed in three different shades. Holding breath we have worked the film. Guru Hegde explained the prominence of his role.

This 108 minutes Tulu and Kannada film is directed by R Preetham Shetty for his own story and screenplay. Pavan Kumar is cameraman, Ganesh Nirchal edited the film. Mime Ramdas has done music.

National award winning producer Avinash U Shetty for Harivu and state award for Aa Karala Rathri thanked for the Kannada film directors ‘Film Bazaar’ and the 12th Bengaluru International Film Festival for selecting this film.

Sharan Shetty, Sinchana Chandramohan, Ranjith Suvarna, Sunil Nelligudde, Prashanth CK are also in the cast of ‘Pingara’.
