RADHIKA PANDIT AND YOGISH SHARE TOP HONORS

Fresh blood has flown in the film awards for 2008-2009. The top winners Radhika Pandit and Yogish are not the only two new generation actors to bag awards, Roopa Iyer for social awareness ‘Mukhaputa’ singer Chetan, cameraman KM Vishnuvardhana, music director Abhiman Roy, Baby Sania Iyer for child actor role, Master Manoj for Nandadeepa are some of the new ones getting awards.

As a matter of fact the surprise is for the first best film award – director Narendra Babu won the award for Kabbaddi the first film on sports based film. G Murthy who missed last time for Kurunadu is now feeling pride for the third best film. For producer SV Babu and Shivamani director ‘Josh’ getting second place is also a big relief for serious film maker.

Senior Journalist Babu Dinakara, D Rajendra Babu, KV Raju, HN Maruthi, Banandur Kempaiah, Rajesh senior actor, cameraman BS Basavaraj and Sujatha Paramashivaiah are the other members of the committee announced in the end of June 2010.

The veteran director D Rajendra Babu and Banandur Kempaiah did not turn up for the committee. Only seven member panel looked in to the awards in a month time.

Now the veteran director Shivashanker committee is looking in to the Subsidy awards for 50 Kannada films Rs.10 lakh each.
