RAJANIKANTH NOT SUIT ?DALAVAYI MUDANNA? - TSN
Posted date: 9/March/2009

The eminent director of national and international repute T.S.Narabharana the Chairman of Cinema Academy has made it very clear to the wish expressed by Rajanikanth that he wants to do the role of ‘Dalavayi Muddanna’ – It does not suit Rajanikanth because of the age factor.

On the stars of Kannada cinema suiting the role Bharana kept quiet for sometime and when he was told the producer would surface once he name the star he said let the producer come to him first.

Speaking exclusively to this journalist at Abhimani Convention Hall in Basaveshwaranagar on Sunday afternoon he said as of now none of the other stars suit him for playing the ‘Dalavayi Muddanna’ role in Kannada. It requires a great amount of maturity and it deserves the right age too to perform. When I thought of the film sometime ago Prakash Rai was prepared for that role but unfortunately it did not take off. The costumes I prepared with my wife Naginibharana was used for ‘Kallarali Hoovagi’ film informed Bharana.

I am aiming for Arjun Sarja for a historical film and it is at the fluid stage. On the first Cinema Academy meeting Bharana who heads the chair says he wants to make the Karnataka Cinema Academy a model to others. The first meeting is slated for May 16 and Bharana has studied the format of other states cinema academies. He has studied the lacunas of Kerala Cinema Academy recently and arriving at a new strategy.

The just released film directed by T.S.Nagabharana ‘Nam Yajamanru’ is being vacated from theatres like Ishwari even before the people came to know about it. As long as the theatre rents, ticket price come down and system of managing the theatres improve it is difficult to invite audience to the theatres. It is a great boon for Kannada cinema because audiences are coming to the theatre in such a horrible condition opines Bharana. Yet ‘Nam Yajamanru’ is average in the collection admits Bharana.
