SOUNDARYA SPECIAL ON OCT 24th
Posted date: 23 Fri, Oct 2020 – 12:02:54 PM

You must be wondering what it is? The most popular actress Soundarya who died in an air crash on April 18, 2004 with her brother Amarnath is back to haunt memories.

It is not 'Apthamitra', the last film of noted actress Soundarya. Before that in March 2004 she took part as Draupadi in Nandamuri Balakrishna direction of ‘Narthanashala’.

It was the dream project of noted Telugu actor Balayya alias Balakrishna. Balayya wanted what his father NTR had done in 1963 ‘Narthanashala’ to come back again. Balakrishna took initiative to direct and play the roles of Arjun and Keechaka.

The background for this is the mythological Mahabharata ‘Virata Parva’ episode. Balakrishna mounted the sets and 17 minutes footage was also captured with Srihari playing Bheema, Sarath Babu playing Dharmaraja etc.

This 2004 March shot 17 minutes had the participation of Soundarya as Draupadi. Balakrishna is bringing this for the audience via OTT release.

In Shreyas ET OTT, this Narthanashala is available on payment. It is 17 minutes of shot portions. That’s all.

The mighty mythology Mahabharata portion is available from 24th of October at 11.49 onwards. Soundarya is very much seen as ‘Draupadi’ in this 17 minutes duration of ‘Narthanashala’.
