From just Rs.10 coolie in 1986 to boss of 86 employees in his cinema production outdoor unit Anaji Nagaraj has climbed the ladder of popularity and comfort zone in his film career from a light boy to ace cameraman and producer of Kannada films.
He is now clubbing 15 cameraman, 12 directors and at least half a dozen heroes for a film. All of them he list are the ones under whom Anaji has worked and some of them are his juniors. The biggest wish of Anaji Nagaraj who hailed from rock bottom to the top of the rock is that he wants to sit with all and address the media.
Anaji Nagaraj is not an ordinary guy. He knows how to capitalize on things and how to capture the attention without much of education in his life. In his position Rs.4 crores worth outdoor unit recently Anaji hired 500 frames camera worth Rs.60 lakhs. He has in all 128 members at work on full, part and contract basis. So down to earth he has made passport for 45 members of his team including the one Sharanappa who came from Gulbarga for work.
‘I beg god only one thing – You do well to do comfort for me I will do good for at least four persons’. Currently with films like Jokali (Gowrishanker hero and Deepak director), Golmal (Vijaya Raghavendra and Shuba Punj – Pramod Chakravarthy director) and Gubbi (Director Vijay with five newcomers in this love cum action film) the workaholic cameraman cum producer Anaji Nagaraj has traveled widely and understood shooting in foreign locations is something marvelous and less expensive. A place like Mumbai is very costly and that is the reason why Hindi filmdom goes to foreign locations.
After doing Shastri, Snehana Preethina and Jaaji Mallige Anaji Nagaraj tried to be independent in his ventures for not any bad reasons. His best friend Darshan call sheet is not available for him for coming two years.
