The sitting MLA and Minister of Agriculture B C Patil is back before the camera after four years and he had taken a few days off to shoot for this film. He knows that he holds an important ministry in the BJP ruled government. On the sets of his comeback to acting and production ‘Garadi’ he obliged the farmer friends by releasing the ‘Raitha’ Kannada film poster.
Speaking to media persons at the ancient temple Kote Anjaneya at Chikkajala B C Patil stated that he is setting up a new production house ‘Kaurava Production House’ (Kaurava is the biggest box office collector in BC Patil career) for encouraging the new talent. He wishes to take up a few films every year and in case of need he would appear in an important role. My daughter Srushti and her husband Sujay Belur are there to take care of the new production house. From this ‘Garadi’ in Srushti Combines, 16th film, my daughter is in charge of production. She is gearing up to be the right producer, says Patil.
On his role of ‘Ranganna’ in the film Garadi, Patil says he has a feeling that this role matches MP Shanker role in blockbuster debut film of Dr Vishnuvardhana as hero ‘Nagarahavu’. He consented to work for a few days and Yogaraj Bhat, director of this film insisted on acting in a ‘Garadi Guru’ role, says Patil.
This film ‘Garadi’ is made with a lot of care and precaution. Yogaraj Bhat after visiting Badami changed the whole complexion of the script. When the title was ‘Guru Purnima’ for this film we had in mind Anupam Kher or Prakash Rai for that role but looking at me Bhat insisted that I do the prominent Ustaad role of Ranganna.
This film has contributions from challenging star Darshan. He corrected the second half of the script and also suggested Yashas Soorya to do the lead role. It is very rare that superstars suggest colleagues for the lead roles. It is the magnanimity of Darshan we should appreciate, said Patil. Not only that, Darshan had agreed to be part of the film cast. He is doing a sterling role that comes at the vital moment of the film.
Yashas Soorya is Soorya from this film and my son in law Sujay Beluru is also appearing for the first time. This film thought in a simple way grew up massively. This is the biggest expenditure film of my career. This is set for all Indian audiences and gets the feel of ‘Garadi Loka’.
BC Patil having the knack of box office formula very well suggested an item ‘Enne Song’ from Yogaraj Bhat lyrics.
The cop turned actor, director, producer and now legislator from Hirekerur and Minister of Agriculture of Karnataka BC Patil is at the top gear of his life.
