Actor-director and the Gentleman Star of the Kannada film industry, Ramesh Aravind, was on Wednesday conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by the Rani Chennamma University for his contribution to the field of cinema.
Ramesh Award was conferred the doctorate at an elaborate ceremony organised by the University in the presence of Honorable Governor of Karnataka, Thawar Chand Gehlot, who is also the Chancellor of all State Universities.
In a statement, Ramesh Aravind thanked the Governor, Rani Chennamma University and said, "My heartfelt thanks to every cine goer, my well-wishers. You made this journey possible."
Ramesh Aravind started his film career with Mouna Geethe and Sundara Swapnagalu in 1986. He has acted in over 100 Kannada films and around 40 films in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. He has directed films in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. He is also a screenwriter and a TV presenter.
