The 57th National awards declared on Wednesday has been very encouraging for the Kannada cinema industry. Five national awards has come to the karnataka State. The best children Kannada film Putani Party made by PN Ramachandra a Mumbaite is the first major news.
The screenplay award at the national level for Dr Girish Kasaravalli and Gopalakrishna Pai for Kanasemba Kudureya Benneri, best regional cinema for Basanth Kumar Patil and Dr Girish Kasaravalli directed 'Kanasemba Kudureya Benneri', best supporting actress award for Arundhathi Nag for 'Paa' and not the least Swarna Kamal for K Putswamy's 'Cinemayana' book in Kannada film history has clinhed the awards at the 57th National awards.
