The Kannada Sahitya Kalavidara Sangha has arrived at a conclusion to protest against the stopping of Charlie Chaplin statue at Othineni in Udupi district for the Kannada film ‘House Full’ produced by Maverick Association of Mumbai in the direction of Hemanth Hegde.
The protest dharna is taking place on Friday at 4.30 pm in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue. The eminent writers, artists take place in this protest and then leave to Governor Ramesh Thakur office to submit a memorandum.
Meanwhile the director of the film Hemanth Hegde upset with the attitude of protestors for erecting the 67 feet statue of Charlie Chaplin has finally decided to go for a plaster of Paris statue in one of the studios and shoot for the film. When our production house is interested in making a tourist spot by investing Rs.30 lakhs on the statue the situation is not permitting. It is not a loss for me but for the tourism department of state says Hemanth Hegde.
